2006 CQE Primer Notable Changes

• Overall: Primer expanded from 830 pages to 878 pages. There was a 12% replacement of questions. Added the new BOK and Bloom’s taxonomy.
  
  
• Section II: Moved quality costs and training to Section III. Added stakeholder and supplier relationships. Questions increased from 9% to 9.5%.
  

• Section III. Cost of quality and training moved in from Section II. Quality audits in from old Section IV. Simplified standards. Questions decreased from 15% to 9.5%.
  
  
• Section IV: Consists of a portion of old Section V and all of old Section VII (Reliability). Added new material on robust design, DFSS, DFX, etc. Questions increased from 12% to 15.5%.
  
  
• Section V: Consists of the rest of old Section V and the sampling portion of Section VI. Added new material on control plans. Questions stayed at 10%.
  
  
• Section VI: Consists of the metrology and testing portions of old Section VI. Expanded gage R&R material. Questions increased from 5.5 to 10%.
  
  
• Section VII: Consists of a portion of old Section VIII. Questions increased from about 8% to 9%.
  
  
• Section VIII: The remainder of old Section VIII. Added material on TOC, lean concepts, six sigma, kaizen, TQM, etc. Questions expanded from 7.5 to 9.5%.
  
  
• Section IX: Was previously old Section IX. Added material on the normal probability plot and simple charts. Questions dropped from 12% to 9%.
  
  
• Section X: Was prior Section X. Added material on the selection of variable, Cpm, and Pp. Questions stayed at 8%.
  
  

• Section XI: Was prior Section XI. Added time series analysis, moved out robust design to Section VI. Question dropped from 13% to 10%.
